How do you know your sexual
How do you know your sexual partners are safe? Is this something they just told you or did you go with them to be tested for HIV and STD's?
Also, do they have other sexual partners besides you and if so, are they using condoms with those partners and do you know for certain their other sexual partners do not have any diseases?
The IUD does not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases or HIV. It only protects against pregnancy. Further, the IUD is recommended for women who are in a monogomous relationship. Having an IUD does not increase your risk for getting an STD, but it does increase your risk for more severe infections and complications if you do become infected.
Unless you are 100% certain that your sexual partners are disease free, have no other sexual partners than you, get tested regularly, and use condoms if they do have other sexual partners I would recommend using condoms.
Hope this helps.
