Study Finds that Young Couples often Disagree about Monogamy
A recent study done by the Oregon State University has concluded that several American young couples married and non-married cannot agree on whether they have agreed or disagreed to sex with just each other or with other partners as well.
The Study
Four hundred and thirty four heterosexual couples ages 18 to 25 non-married and married participated in the study. In 40% of the couples one person said they had an agreement to be monogamous and the other person said no they did not have an agreement to be monogamous.
The Study Findings
The study also revealed that even couples who had both agreed to be monogamous 30% of the couples had not been monogamous. At least one of the partners had sexual relations with someone outside the marriage/relationship. The most shocking report of the study was that the couples with children were even less likely to have a monogamous agreement.
Conclusion
Needless to say some of the couples were rather shocked by their partners answers not to mention their actions. In the society we live in monogamy has to be worked at and more often than not one partner strays from the agreement.
