I am not sure exactly what you mean, when you say that you did not follow the doctors orders. After the shot, the only order is typically to come back in 3 months for another shot, so if that is the order you are referring to, then yes, you are at risk of pregnancy.
Depo Provera is contraceptive injection that is effective for 3 months. Women must return after 3 months for a new shot. However, for many women, the shot remains effective for up to a year. So, even if you didn't go back right away, you may still be ok. Take a pregnancy test to be sure, and then if you are not pregnant, follow your doctor's advice unless you want a baby.
