hi i've been on the "shot" for 2 1/2 yrs i had stopped taking the 'shot about 7 months ago how long will it be befoe i can start planning having children again?

The shot is an injectable

The shot is an injectable contraceptive, also known as Depo-Provera. During the first year of use about a quarter of women stop having periods, and lack of periods increases with continued use of Depo-Provera. Users of Depo-Provera may not have periods for a full year.

Since you have been using Depo-Provera for some time, it may take a year or more for your fertility to return to normal. But don't worry -- most women have no trouble getting pregnant if they wait long enough.

Best of luck,
